Obviously, the way in which you wear your vintage clothing will, of course, be dependent on your own personal tastes. However, on this page I do wish to share a few ideas on wearing your clothing in the best way possible. Let’s take a little look, shall we?
Many people who have never worn vintage clothing before will start by going overboard and wearing too much of it. Don’t do that. You will want to ease yourself into the world of vintage clothing. Just select a few small bits and pieces to wear at the start. A good scarf, hat, or even a piece of jewellery is a good place to begin. Remember, less is absolutely more in the world of vintage clothing. Many people find that upgrading their outfit a little bit at a time will be their best.
You are not wearing a costume
This is not Halloween. If you are wearing vintage clothing, all vintage, you are going to look like you have stepped out of a time machine. When you dress vintage, you pick clothing to complement the modern clothing that you are wearing. That is it. Remember, less is more in the world of vintage clothing. The only time in which everything that you are wearing needs to be vintage is if you are going to a re-enactment or something. Let’s be honest though, that is not likely to happen!
Try new things
You will be surprised at how much vintage clothing will actually look good on you, if you take the risk. Many people will stick close to tried and tested pieces without really experimenting. Obviously, try pieces on that you may otherwise have never even have contemplated. You may be surprised at just how great you end up looking. You will also find something that is going to be the perfect addition to your wardrobe, which is always going to be a plus.
Wear something comfortable
Just because something looks good, does not necessarily mean that it is the right match for you. When you are selecting vintage clothing to wear, think about what clothing you are actually going to be comfortable in. Something can look absolutely fantastic, but if you look uncomfortable wearing it, it is not exactly going to look fantastic. Think about what your current styles are now. Yes, you can veer away from it slightly, but not too much. Be adventurous, obviously, but do not go overboard (as I have mentioned)
Finding vintage clothing and then wearing it is going to be an adventure. Make sure that you take the time to find a decent company which sells vintage clothing. This way you will have a huge number of pieces to choose from. The more options you have at your disposal, the easier it will be to find something that you look absolutely brilliant in, which is always going to be great!
